Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's kids - was born at Woodland Hills, California in the year 1956. Her father taught at school, as did her mother, who was a housewife. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her older brothers. McCormick has always loved singing, dancing and performing show puppets. At the age 6years old, she won her first prize in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley competition. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called McCormick to inquire whether the actress was interested in a career in show business. McCormick was chosen to play in her first big role in 1964 in a tv commercial for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. In the same year, she was featured in another television commercial for Chatty-Cathy's doll. After that, she was cast at La Jolla Playhouse to play the role of Wind It up and It breaks. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was chosen out of a crowd of over 1200 children who auditioned to play the eldest of three daughters towheaded on the new TV comedy The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds with the family of a blended couple. The show lasted five seasons. McCormick wrote in her 2008 memoir Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice she almost ended her relationship in the fifth season of the show in the presence of Barry Williams, her co-star as well as her on-screen brother. The actress was only 16 at the time; he was 19. We would've had a romance, she said. The timing, however, wasn't the right time.
